BANSTEAD WELCOMES FIRST FOAL OF 2012
Banstead Manor Stud in Newmarket welcomed the arrival of its first foal of 2012 on 15th January, when Yorkshire Oaks Gr.1 winner Quiff (Sadler’s Wells) gave birth to a filly by OASIS DREAM. The bay filly (pictured) is described as ‘Attractive, deep girthed with size and scope - a good, strong foal,’ by Stud Manager Simon Mockridge.
The filly’s sire, OASIS DREAM, enjoyed yet another excellent season in 2011, and was the only stallion to feature in the top five of both the Leading Sires in Europe and Leading Sires of Two-Year-Olds in Europe lists. International Thoroughbred (January) recently paid homage to OASIS DREAM’s outstanding record with two-year-olds in particular, which started with his very first crop of runners:
“OASIS DREAM was clearly an outstanding sire of two-year-olds from the word go, and none of the 2011 generation (of first season sires) could match his 21% of runners who achieved a rating of 95 or higher.”
