FIRST DEFENCE 2 YEAR OLD FIRES ON DEBUT

Laying slightly off the pace for most of the way at Ascot, Lilyfire kicked into gear around a furlong out from the finish  under the guidance of James Doyle and proved herself a worthy compeitor besting a field of 18 fillies.

Trained by Roger Charlton, the filly by FIRST DEFENCE covered the 7 furlongs on Friday, July 26th like a professional, making her debut a triumphant one.

It was July of last year that Dundonnell, also by FIRST DEFENCE, made his debut for the same owner, conditioner and jockey.  He went on to win a Group stakes later in the year.  Let's hope that this filly continues the pattern.
