BEACH HUT WINS ON DEBUT AT SANTA ANITA

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News

Beach Hut (FIRST DEFENCE), entering off a three furlong bullet work here in :36 Oct. 30, was sent off at 2-1 for this career bow. Running without Lasix, the bay sat just off of the pacesetter in the two path, waiting for the right moment to pounce. The $200,000 KEESEP yearling purchase came wheeling out of the turn to assume the lead and romped home a decisive 3 1/4 lengths ahead of Snuggley Bear (Sharp Humor). Beach Hut is conditioned by Bob Baffert and ridden by Martin Garcia, the same team that took home championships in the GI Breeders' Cup Juvenile and GI Breeders' Cup Sprint Saturday over this course.
