STAKES TREBLE IN DEAUVILLE FOR FATHER AND SON
Juddmonte stallions enjoyed a stakes treble at Deauville yesterday (15th August) thanks to father and son DANSILI and RAIL LINK.
Taken from European Bloodstock News 16/8/13:
Juddmonte stallions were to the fore yesterday at Deauville, with DANSILI siring the winners of both Group races, and his son RAIL LINK responsible for a Listed winner on the same card.
Trainer Andre Fabre had the one-two in the feature race, the Gr.2 Prix Guillaume d’Ornano, with Vancouverite quickening clear in the final furlong to score by a length and a quarter from stablemate Pilote (Pivotal), while the Pascal Bary-trained Zhiyi (Henrythenavigator) snatched third close home from Silasol (Monsun).
Three-year-old Vancouverite was last seen winning the Listed Prix Pelleas and there are now talks of him heading for the Gr.1 Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe.
Godolphin’s racing manger Simon Crisford said: “We will consider the Arc but he is not entered for the race and would have to be supplemented. Everything will depend on how he recovers from this run. Fast ground is an important factor for him.”
Earlier on the same card the Charlie Appleby-trained three-year-old daughter of DANSILI, Zibelina, scored by a neck in the Gr.3 Prix de Lieurey. Ridden prominently by Mickael Barzalona, she led over a furlong from home and was driven out to hold Table Ronde (Astronomer Royal) by a neck, and may be aimed at the Gr.1 Sun Chariot Stakes.
Zibelina remains unbeaten, having won her debut at Newcastle in June and followe up with victory in the Listed Valliant Stakes last month.
Andre Fabre also took the honours in the Listed Prix Michel Houyvet with the three-year-old son of RAIL LINK, Destruct. The colt ran out a length and a half winner from Mohicane (Samum), who was three lengths clear of Green Byron (Green Tune). Destruct was fourth on his debut in May in a Listed contest and won a conditions event at Chantilly in June prior to his success yesterday.
Bred by Juddmonte, he is a half-brother to the Gr.3 Musidora Stakes and Gr.3 Oak Tree Stakes second Quickfire (Dubai Millennium) and is out of the Gr.2 Grand Prix de Chantilly winner and Gr.1 Prix de Saint-Cloud runner-up Daring Miss (Sadler’s Wells). The second dam Bourbon Girl (Ile De Bourbon) was runner-up in the Gr.1 Oaks and Gr.1 Irish Oaks and is the grandam of the Gr.1 Prix de Saint-Cloud winner and sire Spanish Moon (El Prado).
