DANSILI DOUBLE ON EMOTIONAL & HISTORIC ROYAL DAY

On an emotional day at Royal Ascot yesterday, Riposte (DANSILI) provided Lady Jane Cecil with her first Royal Ascot winner, following the sad passing of Sir Henry Cecil last week.

The filly’s impressive 2¼-length victory in the Ribblesdale Stakes Gr.2 was a fitting tribute to Sir Henry, who holds the record for the most wins at Royal Ascot (75) and whose loss is being felt by everyone at the Royal meeting this week.

Riposte (pictured) is a close relation to the world's highest rated racehorse FRANKEL, who was trained so admirably by Sir Henry to win 14 races, including two at Royal Ascot. The final foal out of Riposte's dam Rainbow Lake - by CHAMPS ELYSEES - has been named Colourful, and is in training with Lady Cecil.

Congratulations to Lady Cecil and all the team at Warren Place on their Royal Ascot success.

Two races later and it was a double for DANSILI when the John Gosden-trained Remote won the Tercentenary Stakes Gr.3. Remote's dam is the French 1000 Guineas winner Zenda, who is currently in foal to DANSILI's son BATED BREATH.

After three days DANSILI is now the leading sire at Royal Ascot, with two winners and two thirds. Last year DANSILI finished the Royal meeting as the leading sire by prize money.
