FRAY THE TENTH INDIVIDUAL WINNER FOR CHAMPS ELYSEES

Juddmonte homebred Fray, trained by Roger Charlton, became the tenth individual two-year-old winner for first season sire CHAMPS ELYSEES yesterday when winning at Newmarket.

Starting as favourite on her second outing, she ran on well to win impressively. Eastern Belle, also by CHAMPS ELYSEES, made a promising debut in third.

CHAMPS ELYSEES's main flag bearer has been the Listed winner and Gr.2-placed Avenue Gabriel, and she has been backed up by promising individuals such as Trip To Paris (TF 95p) and French filly Xcellence, who broke her maiden impressively at Maisons-Laffitte after previously finishing fourth behind blacktype fillies Miss France, Straight Thinking and Indonesienne.

These results on the track have been reinforced by strong sales figures, highlighted by two Tattersalls Book 1 yearlings making 170,000gns and 105,000gns, and his sole offering at the Arqana October Yearling Sale making €90,000.
