MIZZEN MAST'S CHA CHA MAGIC CASTS A SPELL OVER RIVALS

May 16th, at Indiana Grand, Cha Cha Magic, a three year old filly by MIZZEN MAST easily defeated 10 other fillies by 5 1/2 lengths to win a Maiden Special Weight going a mile and a sixteenth on the grass. The race was her second of the year, and she placed in a Maiden at Keeneland last fall.

Cha Cha Magic was bred and is owned by Nelson McMakin and is trained by Phil Sims. She's a half-sister to Hot Cha Cha, winner of the Gr.1 Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup at Keeneland, the Gr.3 Pucker Up, the Gr.3 Bourbonette Oaks, and the Gr.3 Early Times Mint Julep Stakes with earnings just under $1 million. She is also a half-sister to Paroled who placed in the Gr.2 Mervin H. Muniz, Jr. Handicap  whose lifetime earnings total $250,329.
