JUDDMONTE GRAND PRIX DE PARIS
The Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris is a Group 1 race for three-year-olds, run at Longchamp in France in mid-July, on or close to Bastille Day (14th July).
The race was established in 1863, with periods of interruption thanks to the Franco-Prussian war in 1871 and the First World War from 1915 to 1918. It was initially run over 3000 metres (14 furlongs), then 2000 metres (10 furlongs), before being switched to 2400 metres (12 furlongs) in 2005.
Juddmonte’s sponsorship began in 2001. BEAT HOLLOW (2000), RAIL LINK (2006), Zambezi Sun (2007) and Flintshire (2013 - pictured) have all won the race for Prince Khalid since the turn of the Millennium.
