So Beautiful cruised past his rivals in the closing stages of the Prix Daphnis Gr.3 at Longchamp on Saturday (30th June) to win his third race this season and first at Group level.

The colt beat hot favourite and Listed Prix Matchem winner Mainsail (OASIS DREAM) by 1 1/2 lengths.

Patiently ridden by Thierry Jarnet, So Beautiful passed each of his rivals to lead approaching the final 200m and comfortably became the tenth Group winner by Banstead Manor Stud’s leading sire ZAMINDAR, of whom the fillies Coquerelle, Darjina, Timepiece, Zarkava and Zenda have triumphed at the highest level.

Owned and trained by Sandrine-Valerie Tarrou, So Beautiful is the sixth foal of Silver Tulip. By Silver Hawk out of the dual Listed victrix and Gr.2 La Prevoyante Handicap and Gr.2 W L McKnight Handicap runner-up Black Tulip, Silver Tulip is a full-sister to the Gr.1 Premio Vittorio di Capua hero Devil River Peek and a half-sister to Alleged’s Gr.2 Ribblesdale Stakes and Gr.2 Prix de Royallieu victrix Tulipa. Moreover, Black Tulip is the grandam of last year’s Listed-winning juvenile Nimohe (Excellent Art). By Fabulous Dancer, Black Tulip is out of the Gr.2 Premio Legnano-fourth Saimore (Ashmore), whose dam Saigon (Mossborough) finished runner-up in the Gr.1 (then) Premio Regina Elena before producing the 1974 Gr.1 (then) Derby Italiano hero Suffolk to Pretendre and the Gr.3 Premio Legnano victrix Sierra Morena to a second son of Doutelle, Canisbay.
