Quiet Oasis won her second Graded stakes race of 2012 on Saturday (7th July) with a victory in the Royal Heroine Mile Stakes Gr.2 at Hollywood Park.

The full-sister to Prix La Rochette Gr.3 winner Young Pretender is one of 28 individual Graded/Group winners by OASIS DREAM, nine of which have been at Gr.1 level

Taken from Thoroughbred Daily News 8/7/12:

Quiet Oasis, making just her third start of the year, captured the Apr. 29 Gr.3 Wilshire H. over this course and distance before battling to a runner-up effort over nine furlongs in the May 28 Gr.1 Gamely H. last time out. The bay filly was shuffled back off heels into the first turn Saturday and was rank down the backstretch as she raced in midpack with Briecat on the front end. Briecat took the field through fractions of :24.26, :47.84 and 1:11.47, but Quiet Oasis rallied between foes in upper stretch, found her best gear passing midstretch and surged to the lead in the final strides to just get her head in front of Mega Dream.

“We bought her from our trainer [Brian Meehan] in England and she’s stretched out like a pro,” commented winning owner J. Paul Reddam. “The other difference is that now she’s able to relax more and settle. When she first got here, she was very, very keen and would kind of take herself out of the race. She’s like a different racehorse now and I would give full credit to [trainer] Ben [Cecil] and his team.”

Quiet Oasis’s Royal Heroine victory came on the same afternoon that Reddam’s Derby hero I’ll Have Another (Flower Alley) was paraded before the Hollywood faithful under jockey Mario Gutierrez. “This is just great,” Gutierrez said after his winning ride. “I’ve had the opportunity to ride this filly three times. Last time she was a little bit short. She didn’t fight me at all today and was a real professional. I’ve been working her in the mornings, and I knew she was really feeling good for this race. She’s been settling down really nicely in her works. I thought if she could settle like that in the afternoon, nobody could beat her.”
