OASIS DREAM finished Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale as the leading British-based sire by yearling average – second only to Galileo in terms of living sires. In total, 14 OASIS DREAM yearlings were sold, at an average price of 289,143 guineas.

Yesterday (11th October) in particular was an “outstanding” day for this well established Gr.1 sire, who provided five of the top ten yearlings and saw a final day average of 343,667 guineas.

During a “golden” fifteen minutes, four yearlings by OASIS DREAM sold for a total of 1,820,000 guineas. The first was lot 404, a filly out of the American stakes placed mare Arosa from the immediate family of Derby winner Shahrastani. She was consigned by Barronstown Stud and sold for 525,000 guineas to Paul Fudge of Waratah Thoroughbreds.

Following her into the ring was lot 405, the first foal out of Arty Crafty, a full-sister to Gr.1 winner Prince Arch and half-sister to National Stakes Gr.1 winner Kingsfort. Consigned by Airlie Stud, the filly fetched 450,000 guineas from Hugo Lascelles.

Next was lot 407, a colt out of the multiple Gr.1 winner Attraction who sold for 420,000 guineas to Demi O’Byrne on behalf of John Magnier. The Duke of Roxburghe, whose Floors Stud consigned the good-looking colt, said: “He's going to a lovely home. He was a seriously cracking colt, probably the best I've produced in the past 15 years.” Attraction is currently back in foal to OASIS DREAM.

A few lots later, lot 419 fetched a bid of 425,000 guineas from Marco Botti. The colt is the first foal out of Listed winner and Gr.1 runner-up Beach Bunny, and was consigned by Lady O’Reilly’s Castlemartin Stud. "He's a flashy colt," said Botti, alluding to the yearling’s white face and socks. "But I liked him very much as an individual plus he's out of a mare who was Group 1-placed.

"He's a compact type and looks like he should run at two. Hopefully I have an owner for him!"

Later in the day, lot 560 (pictured) became the highest priced yearling by OASIS DREAM to be sold this year when selling to Demi O’Byrne for 675,000 guineas. The colt’s second dam is Irish Oaks Gr.1 winner Colorspin, dam of Kayf Tara, Opera House and Zee Zee Top (dam of this season’s Pretty Polly Stakes Gr.1 winner Izzi Top).
