The Juddmonte stallions enjoyed yet another successful weekend, topped with a Group race double for DANSILI – the leading British-based sire - at the Curragh on Sunday (12th August).

First to score was Famous Name, who notched up his fifth stakes success of the season with a victory in the Royal Whip Stakes Gr.2. Now a seven-year-old entire, Famous Name keeps getting better and better, and on this occasion easily outran the three-year-old Born To Sea to win by 6½ lengths.

His trainer Dermot Weld said afterwards: “He is an amazing horse. He is a wonderful tribute to his owner and his breeding operation. He is a seven-year-old and has been in training for six years. His enthusiasm for racing and his courage is what racehorses should be all about.”

Later in the day, Fire Lily proved DANSILI with the double when winning the Phoenix Sprint Stakes Gr.3. This very consistent three-year-old filly has now won three times at Gr.3 level, and was also placed second in the Moyglare Stud Stakes Gr.1 and Prix Marcel Boussac Gr.1 last year.

Elsewhere, the two-year-old Winsili (DANSILI) marked herself as one to follow with a debut 3½ length victory in a maiden at Newmarket on Saturday (11th August). Her win followed on from the debut success of another DANSILI  juvenile Ashdan in a maiden at the same course the previous evening - the same race won by Frankel on his first start two years ago.

Dansili's son RAIL LINK also had an excellent weekend, with two winners including the juvenile Bee Brave, who won on debut at Ayr in the 7f maiden, whilst fellow second-crop sire THREE VALLEYS notched up a new blacktype two-year-old when Sisiri placed third in the €41.800 Criterium Labronico L.
