Second season sire RAIL LINK scored a winning double yesterday (26th September), courtesy of the three-year-old Signed Up and promising juvenile Stringston Lady.

Signed Up followed up on his maiden victory at Sandown in June with a two-length win at Goodwood.

Taken from the Racing Post 27/09/12:

It was a taking performance from Signed Up, who made light of a 111-day absence to score readily on this handicap debut off top weight. The winner was last seen winning on similar ground in a decent Sandown maiden during the summer.

He wisely ignored the tearaway leader and his rider did well to bag the stands' rail 3f out. He took it up going powerfully and could have been called the winner in between the final 2f. A lightly-raced 3yo with plenty of scope, he should get further without fuss, evidently enjoys soft ground and remains one to follow.

Stringston Lady meanwhile became the latest two-year-old winner for her sire, with a 2¾ length victory in the €16.500 Premio Figino Serenza at Milan.

Taken from European Bloodstock News 27/09/12:

Riccardo Godani’s sense of purchasing a bargain prevailed again. Stringston Lady (RAIL LINK), bought for peanuts at the Tattersalls October Sale Book 3, showed a great turn of foot and went clear to beat Halling Lodge (Halling). She is the second foal and winner out of Mutoon (Erhaab). The second dam Nafhaat (Roberto) finished second in the Listed Giolla Mear Stakes and produced three Stakes horses, topped by Ramin (Unfuwain), who won the Gr.3 (now Gr.2) Park Hill Stakes. The third dam Distant Horizon (Exclusive Native) is a full-sister to Sisterhood, who won ten races in the US, including the Gr.1 Santa Barbara Handicap

RAIL LINK has eight yearlings catalogued for the forthcoming Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, available to view here.
