There was stakes success on both sides of the Atlantic for Juddmonte sires over the weekend, topped off with a victory for the gallant Sri Putra (OASIS DREAM) in the York Stakes Gr.2 on Saturday (28th July) – his fourth at Group level - and an impressive win for Laughing (DANSILI) in the Matchmaker Stakes Gr.3 at Monmouth Park on Sunday (29th July).

Both winners are beautifully bred – Sri Putra is out of Wendylina (In The Wings), a half-sister to the Prix de Diane Gr.1 winner Caerlina (Caerleon), dam of La Nuit Rose (Rainbow Quest), who was third in the Irish 1,000 Guineas and Poule d’Essai des Pouliches; and Laughing is a half-sister to Hong Kong Horse of the Year and Champion, Viva Pataca.

Also in the USA, Dream Peace (DANSILI) was a game second in the Diana Stakes Gr.1 at Saratoga on Saturday evening. Dream Peace won the Prix de la Nonette Gr.2 last year.

Meanwhile, Sarkiyla (OASIS DREAM) became the latest stakes winner for her sire when breaking her maiden to win the Prix de Bagatelle L. at Chantilly on Friday (27th July) on only her second start, whilst the two-year-old Sandreamer, also by OASIS DREAM, placed a strong second to Maureen in the Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes Gr.3 at Ascot the following day.

In France, Bugie d’Amore – who became RAIL LINK’s first stakes winner when winning at Gr.3 level as a two-year-old last season - was an unlucky third in the Prix de Psyche Gr.3 at Deauville on Saturday, only narrowly missing out on second place.

On the same card, promising juvenile Khadima (ZAMINDAR) – owned and bred by H H Aga Khan and trained by Jean-Claude Rouget - was second in the Prix Six Perfections L. by less than a length on only her second racecourse start. She was the second new stakes performer for ZAMINDAR in 24 hours, after Villeneuve stayed on to be runner-up in the Valiant Stakes L. at Ascot on Friday.

As more and more two-year-olds start to make an appearance, it was also encouraging to witness Sisiri win the €14.300 Premio Luigi Ponticelli-Trofeo on Friday – becoming the yet another winner for THREE VALLEYS from his second crop of juveniles.
