CHAMPS ELYSEES is starting to make an impression in the first crop sire ranks, enjoying his seventh winner on Wednesday (2nd October) when Field Of Fame won on debut at Salisbury.

Racing prominently throughout, Field Of Fame won by a length and a quarter for trainer Andrew Balding, owner Thurloe Thoroughbreds and breeder Mrs Sally Hunt.

Andrew Balding commented: "He’d been working well at home but this ground was a big unknown for him. He´s handled things well and we´ll see how he comes out of this with regards another run this season."

Later at Nottingham, CHAMPS ELYSEES came very close to having his second winner of the day when the Ralph Beckett-trained Regardez was only narrowly defeated by Cambridge (RAIL LINK) in the Sir Henry Cecil Oh So Sharp Fillies' Maiden – the pair pulling well clear of the rest of the field.
