Young Juddmonte stallion RAIL LINK enjoyed a productive weekend, with the exciting Richard Hannon-trained two-year-old Ligeia winning impressively at Newbury and the consistent Wild Wolf placing second in the Gran Premio di Milano Gr.1.

Ligeia was second on her debut at Goodwood last month, where she looked very green under jockey Kieran O’Neill. On Saturday (8th June) however, she showed she had benefitted from the experience, making virtually all the running in the 6f maiden to win by two lengths.

Hannon said of Ligeia: “She comes from the same family as Grand Lodge, who was champion two-year-old of his generation… she is as big filly who can only get better."

Wild Wolf – second in the Italian Derby last year – found just one ahead of him in the Gran Premio di Milano Gr.1 on Sunday, after leading for most of the race. The four-year-old is from the first crop of RAIL LINK and to date has won more than 12 times his sire’s 2008 stud fee in prize money.
