Lot 354 - a colt by OASIS DREAM and the first foal out of triple Gr.1 winner Dar Re Mi - topped the final session of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale, Book 1, yesterday (10th October).

Bred and consigned by Watership Down Stud, the colt attracted bids from Badgers Bloodstock’s Grant Pritchard-Gordon, Blandford Bloodstock’s Tom Goff and Angus Gold amongst others, but in the end it was agent Charlie Gordon-Watson that landed the successful bid of 850,000 guineas.

"He's got a stallion's pedigree through and through, it's the best pedigree in the book, he's a special horse," said Gordon-Watson.

"He's for a relatively new client, and I don't know where he'll be trained - hopefully, he'll stay in the UK," he added.

By the end of the three-day sale, OASIS DREAM was responsible for four of the top 10 lots sold. His average of almost 416,000 guineas for 11 lots sold is more than double the 2013 sale average as a whole, as is his median figure of 300,000 guineas (compared to the sale's median of 130,000 guineas).
