First crop sire CHAMPS ELYSEES achieved his first blacktype performer last night after Avenue Gabriel was a strong finishing third in the Silver Flash Stakes Gr.3 at Leopardstown on Thursday night (18th July).

The Paul Deegan-trained filly was making only her second racecourse start, after winning on debut last month at the Curragh. She is highly thought of by connections and holds an entry in the Debutant Stakes Gr.2 in August.

Taken from the Racing Post:

Paul Deegan will surely be thrilled with the effort of Avenue Gabriel. She won a big-field Curragh maiden on debut and probably improved upon that display here. She travelled sweetly to the home turn and gave chase to the winner in the straight. She was only collared for second close home and remains a nice prospect.
