Dank (DANSILI) stayed on strongly to win the Kilboy Estate Stakes Gr.2 at the Curragh on Sunday (21st July) by 1¾ lengths.

Taken from European Bloodstock News 22/07/13:

The Sir Michael Stoute-trained Dank added a Gr.2 race to her burgeoning CV with an authoritative display in the Kilboy Estate Stakes at the Curragh yesterday.

The four-year-old daughter of DANSILI has done nothing but improve and was a close third behind Duntle (Danehill Dancer) in the Gr.2 Duke of Cambridge Stakes at Royal Ascot on her last start.

She had nothing of that calibre to contend with yesterday and was soon in command after Ryan Moore angled her out for a run two furlongs out, quickening impressively and just kept up to her work to beat the Aidan O’Brien-trained Say (Galileo) by one and three-quarter lengths.

Stoute’s partner Coral Pritchard-Gordon said: “I spoke to Sir Michael on the phone and he’s absolutely delighted. “Ryan was thrilled with her and felt she was a better filly today. She is improving and loves the ground. All went right for her once she got the gap and she has a great temperament.

“If she continues to improve I presume she will be aimed at a Group One, but I’m not sure where.”

Owned and bred by James Wigan of London Thoroughbred Services, she is out of Masskana (Darshaan), who has also produced the Gr.1 winners Sulk (Selkirk) and Eagle Mountain (Rock Of Gibraltar), as well as the Listed winner Wallace (Royal Academy).

Meanwhile, Chicquita's win in the Irish Oaks Gr.1 on Saturday (20th July) marked DANSILI's first Gr.1 victory as a broodmare sire.
