Foreteller became the 12th Gr.1 winner for his sire DANSILI when winning the Ranvet Stakes at Rosehill on Saturday (23rd March).

The six-year-old European import won the Peter Young Stakes Gr.2 at Caulfield last month, and stepped up once more on this occasion to land his first Gr.1, running on well in the closing stages to score by half a length from the favourite Fiveandahalfstar.

Now trained by Chris Waller on behalf of a partnership of Australian owners, Foreteller was bred by Juddmonte Farms and originally trained in France by David Smaga. The gelding was sold by Juddmonte at the 2010 Tattersalls Autumn Horses In Training Sale for 100,000 guineas and had his first start in Australia over 1400m at Randwick in April 2011.

Following Saturday's victory, he has now won nine of his 28 starts, with prize money over $820,000.

Foreteller’s dam, Prophecy, won the 1993 Cheveley Park Stakes Gr.1, and is the dam of seven winners from eight foals to race including the Gr.2 winning filly Modern Look (ZAMINDAR) and Listed winner Arabesque (Zafonic), herself the dam of the stallions Showcasing (OASIS DREAM) and Camacho (Danehill).

DANSILI is now the sire of 12 Gr.1 winners, having been responsible for Fallen For You, Giofra and The Fugue in 2012 alone.
