Last Train marked himself out as one to watch this season with a victory in the €80,000 Prix de Barbeville Gr.3 at Longchamp on Sunday (28th April).

The son of RAIL LINK, who is trained by Andre Fabre, was one of five winners for his sire in just three days - making it a winning weekend for the young Juddmonte stallion.

Taken from European Bloodstock News, 29th April 2013:

Last Train, a half-brother to Frankel’s dam Kind, produced a game performance to land the Prix de Barbeville.

The four-year-old son of RAIL LINK was trying this trip just shy of two miles for the first time and showing he stays this far, albeit in a steadily run race, will have increased options for connections, with the Gr.1 Ascot Gold Cup over two and a half miles a possibilty.

Last season, he was beaten a head by Imperial Monarch (Galileo) in the Gr.1 Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp and was also third in the Gr.2 Prix Niel at the same track in September.

A Juddmonte homebred, this pedigree has been well documented with the exploits of Frankel. As well as Kind, Last Train is also a half-brother to the Gr.1 Arlington Million and Gr.1 Tattersalls Gold Cup winner Powerscourt (Sadler’s Wells) and they are out of the Gr.3 (now Gr.2) Lancashire Oaks winner Rainbow Lake (Rainbow Quest).

Kind is also the dam of the Gr.3 Gordon Stakes winner Noble Mission (Galileo) and the Gr.3 Lingfield Park Derby Trial winner Bullet Train (Sadler’s Wells), who is now a stallion at Wintergreen Stallion Station.
