All eyes were on the debut of Joyeuse at Lingfield yesterday evening (28th May), and the beautifully bred filly did not disappoint.

By leading European sire OASIS DREAM out of Kind, Joyeuse (pictured as a foal in 2011) is a half-sister to the world's highest rated racehorse, FRANKEL, and like her illustrious older sibling is trained by Sir Henry Cecil.

In the 6f maiden at Lingfield, Joyeuse showed an enthusiastic running style not dissimilar to FRANKEL, but once she settled she drew clear of the field to win by an impressive three-and-a-quarter lengths. She may now been aimed at the Albany Stakes Gr.3 at Royal Ascot next month.

Jockey Tom Queally said after the race: "I was happy with the way she did it. The ground was on the slow side and better ground would bring out more in her. She was very professional in the race."

Joyeuse is the latest two-year-old winner for OASIS DREAM,
who is currently leading the leading European sire by winners and the leading British-based sire by earnings.
