SUCCESSFUL FOAL SALES FOR JUDDMONTE STALLIONS
The Juddmonte stallions enjoyed a very successful Tattersalls December Foal Sale.
KINGMAN will have his first two-year-old runners in 2018, and there were three of his second crop foals sold at Tattersalls. They included Lot 889, a brown colt consigned by Langton Stud, which fetched 135,000 guineas from JC Bloodstock.
KINGMAN's close relative, OASIS DREAM, had five foals sell for an average of 177,000 guineas. His draft included a filly out of champion Islington - sold as part of the Ballymacoll Stud dispersal - who fetched 275,000 guineas from Cheveley Park Stud, and a filly out of German Classic winner Penelopa, who sold to Hugo Lascelles for 260,000 guineas. OASIS DREAM will stand for £30,000 in 2018.
BATED BREATH had 19 lots sold for an average of over 35,000 guineas, including a colt out of Lifting Me Up, consigned by Stringston Farm and purchased for 150,000 guineas by Abbeylands Farm. BATED BREATH's own sire DANSILI had two lots sold, including a colt out of Gr.3 winner Havant from West Blagdon Stud that sold for 300,000 guineas to Capital Bloodstock.
Off the back of an incredibly successful season, FRANKEL had just one foal on offer, which ended up among the top four priced lots of the sale. The bay colt (pictured), out of Italian Oaks winner Contredanse - consigned by Fittocks Stud and bred by Stuart Stuckey - was purchased by Japan-based Le Mare for 375,000 guineas. The buyer commented: "I particularly liked the fact that this colt is by FRANKEL, but he is a great individual too - he was my pick of the day."
