MARES IN FOAL TO KINGMAN AVERAGE 300,000GNS
Mares in foal to KINGMAN averaged 300,000gns (seven sold) at Tattersalls December Breeding Stock Sale this year.
They were headed by Highclere-consigned I Am Beautiful, a half sister to Rumplestiltskin, from the family of Miesque, who made 700,000gns when she sold to John Clarke on behalf of Pat O'Kelly (Kilcarn Stud). Clarke said: "We loved this mare. She has immense appeal, had ability and has a pedigree to boot. She has a nice cover to a good horse."
Privacy Order, another mare in foal to KINGMAN, was bought by Tim and Tessa Vestey for 425,000gns. "She is a very pretty mare, she has a good family, is already a stakes producer, Roger Varian likes her two-year-old, and she is still only a seven-year-old," said Tim Vestey, adding that her KINGMAN cover was also an attractive addition to the decision-making process.
FRANKEL also had some notable results averaging 479,375gns (eight sold) for mares due to foal to him. Oakley Girl, a stakes-placed mare from the family of Colorspin was purchased by Kerri Radcliffe Bloodstock for 925,000gns on a day that saw 10 lots breaking the million guineas barrier.
