KINGMAN'S FIRST EXCITING CROP OF YEARLINGS ON SHOW AT ARQANA

The Arqana August Yearling Sale in Deauville presents the first opportunity to see Champion Miler KINGMAN’s first crop of yearlings for sale at public auction.

KINGMAN – a winner of four Group 1 races in England, Ireland and France – has been incredibly well-received since retiring to stud in 2015, covering full books in each of his first three seasons.

Juddmonte’s Stallion Nomination Manager, Shane Horan, comments: “If you could write the ideal CV for a stallion prospect, it would read like KINGMAN's - a great-looking individual, an unbeaten two-year-old, a Classic winning miler with an electric turn of foot, by a sire of sires, out of a Classic winner (Zenda) and from the family of a leading sire (OASIS DREAM). KINGMAN genuinely has it all!”

10 yearlings will come under the hammer at Deauville, with Ecurie des Monceaux responsible for four of them. They include Lot 47 (pictured right), a half-sister to Listed winner Prudenzia (dam of Champion 3YO Filly Chicquita) and Group 3 winner Pacifique. Dam Platonic’s first-crop FRANKEL filly sold for €1.15 million at the same sale in 2015.

Lot 44 is a colt out of group-placed Galileo mare Phiz; Lot 247 is a colt out of Rose Et Noire, a winning half-sister to Prix Dollar Gr.2 winner Free Port Lux from the family of Electrocutionist; and Lot 319 is out of the Listed-winner Faithfilly from the family of RAINBOW QUEST.

Early in the sale, Ballylinch Stud consigns Lot 2, a colt by KINGMAN out of stakes-placed Janicellaine (Beat Hollow). The dam is a half-sister to European Champion 2YO Chriselliam and Group 2 winner Very Special.

Lot 100, meanwhile, consigned by Newsells Park, is the first foal out of stakes-placed Wittgenstein, whose half-sister has produced Lennox Stakes Gr.2 winner Dutch Connection.

KINGMAN is a pure-breeding bay, but he does have two grey yearlings catalogued - Lot 101 (pictured left), consigned by Haras de Montaigu, who enjoyed an impressive catalogue update when her half-brother Wings Of Eagles won the Derby Gr.1 in June; and Lot 130, a filly out of Listed winner and stakes producer Chill consigned by Haras des Capucines.

Completing the exciting offering are Lot 163, a colt consigned by Haras de la Perelle out of Listed winner Gradara, who herself is a half-sister to DANSILI’s Falmouth Stakes Gr.1 heroine Giofra; and Lot 168, a filly out of St Simon Stakes Gr.3 winner Hazel Lavery, consigned by Coulonces Sales.
