December 20 that the Fair Grounds, Lola’s the One, a three-year-old filly by MIZZEN MAST, stalked the early pace then slipped down the rail to win a $40,000 Allowance race over a mile and a sixteenth by a widening 3 ¼ lengths.

Lola’s the One, bred and owned by Lothenback Stable and trained by Neil Pessin, broke her maiden as a two-year-old last year at the Fair Grounds. She has now posted wins on dirt and grass. She’s the first foal out of the War Chant mare No Retreat, a winning half sister to Mister Marti Gras, winner of four stakes including the Gr.3 Ack Ack and Gr. 3 Washington Park Handicap and placed in 14 other stakes, 13 of them graded, for earnings of $1,166,879.
