Taken from European Bloodstock News, 17th February 2017:

Ertijaal was sent off a short-priced favourite for this Gr.3 [Meydan Sprint] over 1000m, having only been beaten once in his last six starts, five of which were at Meydan, when finishing three quarters of a length second to Buffering in the Gr.1 Al Quoz Sprint.

After a fairly even break, the son of OASIS DREAM soon hit the front and never looked back, quickening clear when asked by Jim Crowley. He ran out a two and three quarter-length victor from Jungle Cat, with Caspian Prince another four and a quarter lengths back in third.

Ertijaal has now won six of his 10 starts for trainer Ali Al Rayhi. Despite his recent excellent form, this was only his third blacktype success, having won the Listed Present Stakes almost exactly a year ago and 11 months prior to that the Listed Spring Cup when trained by William Haggas.

Bred by Shadwell Estate, he is a half-brother to the Listed Rockingham Stakes-placed Odooj (Pivotal) and three other
winners. They are out of the Listed (then) Atalanta Stakes winner Shabiba (Seeking The Gold), who is a half-sister to the Gr.3 Cornwallis Stakes-placed Darajaat (Elusive Quality).

Ertijaal becomes OASIS DREAM's 50th individual Group winner. He won the Meydan Sprint Gr.3 in course record time.
