FRANKEL's son Cracksman snatched his third Gr.1 success with a win in the Coronation Cup at Epsom today (1st June). Despite not getting into his usual smooth rhythm Cracksman managed to reel in the front-running Salouen to win by a head.

"He was bit sleepy today and I couldn't really lay up," explained Frankie Dettori. "He doesn't really enjoy running downhill and I wanted to close the gap but couldn't. We had to work for this one, but he's a better horse than he showed today and his class showed through."

Trainer John Gosden added: "It's hard to pick them up when they are that far ahead on this ground and he was not in love with the track. He showed his class to get there in the end." He indicated that the Prince of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot may be his next target.
