PROMISING START TO THE FLAT SEASON
The start of the flat season has seen some bright prospects setting out on their three-year-old campaigns for the Juddmonte stallions.
Solesili (DANSILI) made a smart debut at Chantilly (31st March) where he was ridden patiently until he was pushed out in the final furlong to win comfortably by two and a half lengths. The first foal out of Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner Solemia, holds entries for the Prix du Jockey Club and the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris.
Also on the 31st March, another DANSILI colt, Crossed Baton, put in a strong seasonal debut at Kempton, beating his opposition in the final 100 yards of the race. Jockey Robert Havlin said: "Crossed Baton is a big horse and will improve a lot for the run. He's laid back and has got a good attitude, but was still showing signs of inexperience." He holds entries for the Derby and Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris.
Juddmonte homebred Imaging (OASIS DREAM) also made a successful start to the season on 31st March at Cork. Trainer Dermot Weld said: "The ground is probably more testing than he'd appreciate and when he won in Limerick I said I'd run him in a 2000 Guineas Trial - nothing has changed and he'll run there next (Leopardstown 14th April)."
Rabdan, an Al Shaqab bred colt by FRANKEL, powered home for an impressive win at Saint-Cloud (2nd April) improving on his previous position as runner up at the same track last year. He is also entered for the Prix du Jockey Club and the Juddmonte Grand Prix de Paris.
