MIZZEN MAST FIRSTER SCORES AT DEAUVILLE

On November 28 at Deauville, Oboe, a two-year-old filly by
MIZZEN MAST, won her career debut in front running fashion going 7 ½ furlongs. Oboe
is a full sister to Filimbi, winner of the Gr.2 Goldikova Stakes at Del Mar,
the Fasig Tipton De La Rose Stakes, and placed in four Gr.1 Stakes, the Just
a Game, Jenny Wiley, First Lady, and the Matriarch for earnings of $670,739.
Like her full sister, Filimbi also began her racing career in France where she
won the Prix Isola Bella Stakes L.. The dam of Oboe and Filimbi is the high
class Seattle Slew mare Flute, winner of the Gr.1 Kentucky Oaks, Gr.1
Alabama and of over $1.1 million. Flute is also the Granddam of Purser, a son
of MIZZEN MAST that won stakes in England and placed in the Gr.3 Autumn
Stakes, of Weep No More, winner of the Gr.1 Ashland Stakes at Keeneland, and
of the 2018 two-year-old stakes winner Current, winner of the Gr.3 Bourbon
Stakes at Keeneland.
Flute has a yearling colt by MIZZEN MAST, a weanling colt
by Noble Mission, and was bred to ARROGATE in 2018.
