ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL BOOK 1 SALE FOR JUDDMONTE SIRES
At the conclusion of Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale the Juddmonte stallions registered some excellent results.
The sale came to a conclusion with a record turnover of 106 million guineas, and a decade-best clearance rate of 86%. Fourteen lots topped the million guinea mark whilst 59 lots sold for 500,000 guineas of more.
21 KINGMAN yearlings changed hands at Book 1 this year averaging 314,714gns. His highest priced yearling was a colt out of Aga Khan-bred Shemya purchased by M V Magnier for 1,050,000gns.
FRANKEL had three lots break the half-million guineas barrier, headed by a colt from the family of Rip Van Winkle purchased by Roger Varian for 850,000gns. His yearlings averaged 336,429gns for 14 sold.
A season that has seen two new Group 1 winners for OASIS DREAM resulted in the his yearlings posting consistently strong results. The 10 that sold this week averaged 219,000gns. The highlight was a colt out of Lavender And Lace, from the family of prolific producer Summertime Legacy, who sold to agent Alex Elliott for 380,000gns.
The only BATED BREATH yearling to be offered in Book 1 made 140,000gns, selling to Rabbah Bloodstock. The filly from the family of James Garfield and Invincible Spirit was consigned by Norris Bloodstock .
DANSILI retired from active stud duty this year but his yearlings remain in demand. The highlight was a filly from the family of Neatico and Beautyandthebeast realised 210,000gns when US agent Shawn Dugan brought the hammer down.
