Juddmonte Farms

The first two days of the Arqana August Yearling Sale in Deauville have seen a strong performance form Juddmonte's stallions.

FRANKEL led the way with a colt out of Listed winner Sabratah (OASIS DREAM) selling to Oliver St Lawrence on behalf of Fawzi Nass for €600,000. St Lawrence said: "He's a lovely big scopey horse, a staying model who is still quite unfurnished at present. He'll go to England to be trained by George Peckham."

Lot 140, a Frankel filly out of Cerulean Sky's sister L'Ancresse, runner-up in the Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Turf and Irish Oaks, realised €480,000 putting her amongst the top five fillies to sell on day two. The buyer, Tom Ludt of Phoenix Thoroughbreds said: "She's a beautiful filly and we've been trying to get some bloodlines to build up the filly side,"

"We won't decide for a while where she'll be trained but we've plenty of trainers and will have a lot of friends [among them] right now."

The three KINGMAN yearling colts offered for sale averaged €220,000. Two were signed for by Al Shaqab Racing. Lot 86, out of blacktype producer Baine made €320,000, making him on of the top six colts on day two. Lot 99, the first foal out of Clarmina realised €230,000 for consignors Haras des Capucines.

DANSILI proved popular with agent Stephen Hillen who bought the two offspring to pass through the ring in Deauville. The first, Lot 10, a colt consigned by Haras de la Louviere, from the family of Chicquita and Magic Wand made €150,000. He was followed by a colt out of Group-placed Some Spirit who brought the hammer down at €300,000.

Lot 71, a filly by OASIS DREAM out of Gr.3 winner Aigue Marine made €230,000 for Haras du Mezeray when she sold to agent Tina Rau.
