The son of FRANKEL and dual Gr.1 winner Heat Haze stepped up to take the Listed Tapster Stakes at Goodwood (26th May) after his close second in the Buckhounds Stakes (L.) at Ascot a fortnight ago.

Tracking the leader Blakeney Point in the early stages, Mirage Dancer was pushed along by jockey Pat Dobbs after the three furlong marker, surging clear once he took the lead. James Horton, assistant to Sir Michael Stoute said: "He has done it very smoothly. He ran a lovely race first time out at Ascot a couple of weeks ago and we thought he was entitled to come here and do that. He is a big, athletic horse and has got a lovely rhythm to him. I think he might stay further in time and he is still relatively unfurnished.

“You look at him and he can only improve. He is still a little wintry in his coat and, when it comes, he could make up into a smart horse."
