Taken from European Bloodstock News, 1st April 2019:

FRANKEL notched up a South African Stakes success when four-year-old daughter Miss Frankel recorded a game victory in yesterday’s KwaZulu-Natal Stakes L. at Scottsville, thereby emulating her illustrious dam Val De Ra (Var), who won the five-furlong sprint in 2011.

Trained like her dam by Dennis Drier, Avontuur Stud’s chesnut capitalised on her light weight and took the lead approaching the final furlong. In a driving finish, she dug deep and just managed to hold off the flying top weight Neptune’s Rain (Antonius Pius) by a short head.

This coveted blacktype victory, her third overall, adds further lustre to an already top drawer pedigree. The product of two champions, her dam was the country’s leading sprinter in 2011 and retired a triple Gr.1 winner of the Computaform Sprint, Cape Flying Championship and SA Fillies Sprint. Sent to Britain, the daughter of Var visited FRANKEL prior to returning to South Africa with an Oasis Song filly by her side. Miss Frankel was born at Avontuur Stud in October 2014.
