PRETTY POLLYANNA TO VISIT FRANKEL
Gr.1 winner Pretty Pollyanna (OASIS DREAM) has been retired and will go to FRANKEL in 2020 after connections called time on her racing career.
Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 11th September 2019:
Bred by Stetchworth and Middle Park Studs, the English/French highweighted two-year-old filly of 2018 won both the Prix Morny Gr.1 and the Duchess Of Cambridge Stakes Gr.2. and was third in the Fillies' Mile Gr.1 for trainer Michael Bell.
At three, the OASIS DREAM filly was also second in the Irish 1000 Guineas Gr.1 and fourth in the July Cup Gr.1 among her five runs. Runner-up in the Hopeful Stakes L. in August, Pretty Pollyanna retires with a mark of 11-3-2-1 and earnings of $518,357.
Michael Bell said: "It's going to be hard for her to achieve more than she has already, having won a Group 2 and a Group 1, so the Gredleys have decided to call it a day. They're owner-breeders and they feel there is probably more to lose than there is to gain at this stage, so they want to wrap her in cotton wool so she can hopefully go on to enjoy a successful second career as a broodmare. I believe the plan is to send her to FRANKEL next year, which is very exciting."
