FRANKEL enjoyed a Listed double at Goodwood on Saturday (25th May) as sons Elarqam and Mirage Dancer both returned to winning ways.

Elarqam, whose dam is the champion Attraction, won the 10-furlong Festival Stakes L. by two and a half lengths. Trainer Mark Johnston said: "He has been very well at home. He had that stress fracture in his pelvis last year, this year he went home to Shadwell and had that surgery done and was away for a long time. He is a quite laid-back horse at home and it has taken a while to get him fit.

"Sheikh Hamdan will have his own ideas where he wants to go next. I wouldn't be scared of coming back in trip, although Dane [O'Neill] said that [trip] was perfect. A horse like him, the ultimate target is to get a Group 1 and make him a stallion, as he has got the pedigree for it."

Attraction also has a yearling colt by FRANKEL.

Later on the card, Juddmonte homebred Mirage Dancer landed the Tapster Stakes L. to get his third stakes victory. Mirage Dancer's dam, the Gr.1 winning daughter of Hasili, Heat Haze, also has a FRANKEL two-year-old named Heath and returns to him for 2019.
