Two Kingmans in top 10 at Breeze Ups

A strong joint Goffs / Arqana Breeze Up Sale saw two Kingman offspring make the top 10 highest-priced lots yesterday (1st July) at Doncaster.

The sole Kingman in the Goffs UK portion of the sale made £290,000 when Jamie Lloyd of Meah Lloyd Bloodstock brought the hammer down. The colt, out of stakes-placed mare Asaawir, is destined for California and will carry the colours of Calvin Nguyen. Lloyd said: "He's been bought with my partner David Meah for one of our clients in America, Calvin Nguyen. The sire is well known to them over there and he's a half-brother to two highly-rated two-year-olds."

Anthony Stroud went to £380,000 to secure a Yeomanstown Stud consigned Kingman filly out of Group 3 winner Calyxa (pictured) in the Arqana portion of the sale. Stroud said: “She’s for Godolphin, she did a good breeze, she comes from a good farm and she’s by Kingman, so she fitted the bill.”
