Frankel the fastest to 40

Two-year-old filly Kalahara has become Frankel's 40th Northern Hemisphere-bred Group winner with a decisive victory in the Gr.3 Prix d’Arenberg over five furlongs at ParisLongchamp yesterday (3rd September).

The Wertheimer & Frere homebred won the race in record time. Trainer Christophe Ferland commented: "After her win last time [over 6f], I had said to everyone that she'll run in the Prix Eclipse [Gr.3], but I had second thoughts and after talking to Maxime we had this idea - I worked her at home with speedy older horses and she was doing it very nicely. I knew she had some talent, but now I'm convinced she has a lot."

Frankel has reached 40 Northern Hemisphere-bred Group winners faster than any other European stallion in the history of the Pattern. It has taken him 1707 days since his first crop turned two years old. Frankel achieved this 331 days (almost a year) faster than Dubawi, the previous record holder.
