GROUP 1 TRIUMPH FOR PERSIAN KING
KINGMAN's Persian King won at the highest level again with a two length victory in the Prix d'Ispahan Gr.1 at Chantilly yesterday (19th July).
Persian King was a Group 3 winner as a two-year-old and went on to take the Prix de Fontainebleau Gr.3 and Classic Poule d'Essai des Poulains Gr.1 in his three-year old season. Following a second place in the 2019 Prix du Jockey Club Gr.1 he did not return to action until June this year.
He added another Group race to his tally of wins with the Prix du Muguet Gr.2 on 28th June before his run in the Prix d'Ispahan. Anthony Stroud, who was representing connection Goldolphin SNC and Ballymore Thoroughbred Ltd, said: "There is no need to say that Andre Fabre has done a marvellous job to bring him back to where he is now. It's been step-by-step and it will continue that way. He was a very good two-year-old and has a lot of talent."
Commenting on the KINGMAN colt's possible future targets, trainer Andre Fabre said: "At one stage, the Juddmonte International [Gr.1] was an option,
but now I think that I will run him in the Jacques le
Marois [Gr.1 at Deauville 16th August]."
