Homebred KINGMAN filly Alocasia earned her second Listed win in the Prix Marchand d'Or at Chantilly on Friday (19th June).

Taken from the Thoroughbred Daily News, 20th June 2020:

Alocasia was a Listed winner as a two-year-old and had also added some more blacktype to her page with a second place in the Prix Texanita Gr.3 on her three-year-old season debut in May.

Trainer Henri-Francois Devin commented: "I was a little apprehensive beforehand, because the ground was very fast when she ran over course and distance last time and she came out of that race a little stiff for a while."

He continued: "I have been unable to give her as much work as I'd have liked since then, but it just goes to show that sprinters don't really need that much work when they're in the right shape. She's such a brave filly, she's so consistent and never runs a bad race. I'll discuss future plans with His Highness and Teddy Grimthorpe and I think it's likely we'll step back into pattern-race company for her next start. There's a contest over this trip for fillies [the Summer Stakes Gr.3] at York and it's a good possibility that we might go there."
