The well-bred She's Got You earned a lucrative first blacktype score while capping yet another turf stakes exacta for trainer Chad Brown. Never worse than fourth in seven tries in her native country for John Gosden - most recently when third in a Lingfield Listed race on the all-weather last Halloween - the bay flew home to be third by a head at Belmont 5th July. She bypassed the Saratoga meet despite recording a number of breezes there, but was ready to run Saturday.
In a bit tight in the early going, the blaze-faced bay was content to caboose the field down the backside. She split foes and inched closer into the home bend, circled up out in the clear entering the lane and reeled in her stablemate in the shadow of the wire.
"Both horses raced very well," said Brown's assistant Luis
Cabrera."We're very pleased with
how they ran. I wasn't concerned about the layoff [for She's Got
You]. They told me she has been training very well at Saratoga.
When horses have back class you don't really worry about a
layoff. You just make sure they're ready and they run. I thought
she might be closer but we were good. Chad always makes sure
these horses are ready and she was ready."
