Three stakes winners for Frankel

This weekend's racing saw three of Frankel's progeny score at stakes level on three different continents. Two were new stakes winners and the third was stepping up from Grade 3 to Grade 2.

Frankely Awesome kicked off the weekend with a win in the Listed W J McKell Cup at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday (27th June). She is the first foal out of stakes-winning mare Street Secret and was bred by Cressfield Stud.

Elizabeth Way was the next to score when she got up in the final strides to take the Gr.2 Nassau Stakes at Woodbine. This was her second Graded win this year, the first being Gr.3 The Very One Stakes at Gulfstream Park in February.

On Sunday (28th June) Restiany rounded out Frankel's trio of stakes winners with his first blacktype win in the Listed Prix Saint-Patrick at Saint-Cloud. The colt's jockey, Alexis Badel said: "He broke well and was in a good rhythm and relaxed, so I let him do his thing. I took my time in the straight and when I asked him he responded really nicely. It was a very good performance I think."

Frankel now has 17% stakes winners to runners, 13% Group winners to runners and 27% stakes horses to runners (Northern and Southern Hemisphere combined).
