A filly from the second crop of CHAMPS ELYSEES was purchased for €90,000 by Anthony Stroud at the Arqana October Yearling Sale yesterday - making her the third top-priced lot on the second day of the sale.

Taken from European Bloodstock News, 23/10/13:

Anthony Stroud Bloodstock was responsible for purchasing Lot 198, a CHAMPS ELYSEES filly from La Motteraye Consignment, for €90,000.

“I really liked this filly. She has a very good action and is a lovely mover”, commented Stroud.

“I purchased her for a long established international client of mine. CHAMPS ELYSEES has started well and he looks to be a stallion with a lot of potential. Her full-sister Champ D’Honneur has shown promise so far.”

The filly, who cost a mere €10,000 at Arqana last December, is the second foal out of the unraced Marla (Pentire), whose first has so far finished placed on three occasions for trainer Jean Paul Gallorini. Marla is out of the German Listed winner Minaccia (Platini) who also foaled Macleye (Winged Love), winner of the Gr.2 Prix de Pomone, Gr.3 Prix Allez France and second in the Gr.1 Prix Royal Oak.
